Today when we got there we had to go down into the physiotherapy room, because they were doing something in the Music room. Then they told us not to put him on the floor because it was too cold! So we held him the entire time… we sat on the message bench too after a while. He wants to stand up so bad a lot! So we had to keep him distracted so he didn’t think about wanting to stand up. Of course we had his favorite toy, the rattle and we brought a couple new toys, that he liked pretty well. He does love to bang those stacking cups together! And watch out, he smacks those things hard!!! Like his grip, his swing is strong too! Today he copied Jerry again! Ok, Jerry taught him the stacking cup banging thing yesterday… today Jerry took one of the cups and covered him mouth while making sounds and then rapidly moving it away so you get the vibrato sound like when you make noise into a moving fan. Next thing you know Alex is trying to do the same thing! We were so amazed! Maybe this is normal for an 11 month old but we didn’t know he was so perceptive! So all of it is new to us! It was so obvious too!! J
The hour went so fast, again. Ugh!
For lunch we went to the Atrium and walked around first then went into MacJohns there to eat. We met the other WPA families in there. They were having lunch too! So it was good to meet them. They will be leaving soon though…
At our second visit we took his coat, mittens, hat, and an extra pair of pants. It was about 70-75 today and we wanted to take him out! They make you bundle your kids up so thick, they can’t even move! He was stuffed into the coat, and because it is too big for him… (he has no neck) it was all bunched up around his Kazak cheeks! It did not fit right, and couldn’t have been comfortable… We walked around a bit, but he could not get down, no shoes, there really wasn’t much for him to do out there and the mittens kept him from holing on to all of his toys successfully! He didn’t seem to be having that good of a time, so we went back into that crazy therapy room. This time we put the blanket down on the floor and played there. He just wanted to stand up though. So we spent some time letting him bang on a chair that was in the room. Toward the end I think he was getting tired and hungry, he just sat on the floor in between Jerry’s legs, chewed on his toys and lounged back onto Jerry’s leg! It was cute! Jerry is obsessed with him, he wants to hold him or touch him the whole time… of course so do I, so we are always saying “its my turn!”
Today we heard a little laugh from him… it was more of a baby chuckle, it wasn’t very big but it was a laugh. And the sad thing is that it was when we were handing him to Assyia to take him back to his group! So he could eat. He’s smart too! We have had 4 visits and he already knows that when he leaves us, he knows that he is going to eat. He smiles big and kicks his feet, when she grabs him. Wrong answer, Alex, you are supposed to cry because you want to stay with us!!!
After that we came home for a little while, then we went walking… and shopping. All over! We had fun.
